We are looking for a third co-founder.
Two of us build the system. The third founder is the practice: the person who has prepared coordinated Canada–US files for years and knows exactly where the hours go.
Who we are looking for
A draft profile, honestly labelled. It will sharpen as discovery proceeds. If you are close but not an exact match, write anyway.
Someone for whom the coordinated file has been the day job.
- Years of hands-on preparation of coordinated Canada–US personal files: the T1 and the 1040 together, not one side alone
- At home in the instruments: foreign tax credit sequencing, PFIC analysis, FBAR and Form 8938, Form 5471, treaty positions and elections
- A Canadian CPA, a US CPA or enrolled agent, or both; cross-border practice matters more than the letters
- Strong opinions, from experience, about where preparers lose hours and where files go wrong
- Willing to define what correct looks like: the standard the product is graded against will carry your name
What the role is
-
A founder, not an advisor
Co-founder equity and a founder's say. You would own the tax judgment in the product the way the two of us own the platform and the data boundary.
-
The practice voice in every decision
What gets drafted first, what the reviewer must see, when the system should abstain: these are practice calls, and they would be yours.
-
Based in reality
We are in Toronto. The work is wherever you are, and we know the filing season calendar is sacred. We will plan around it.
If this is you, or you know the person it is, write to hello@cloisa.com. A few lines about your practice is enough to start.
